 TWO GREAT RESOURCES

Did you know we have two great resources at the church for study? Have you looked at the church library in a while? We are always adding new books to it. Also, have you checked out the sermon tape library? There are many good topics there also.

Thoughts

Being Sure Makes You Secure

I watched the TV series "I Dream of Jeannie" when I was a kid. I remember on one episode, Tony's friend Roger wanted Jeannie to do her genie magic and produce a copy of a current newspaper. Aiming to please, she said she would, but she needed to know the day's date. Roger told her the date and with that, she blinked her eyes and a paper magically appeared. Roger turned to the sports page and started reading.

He soon realized he had given Jeannie tomorrow's date, and what he was looking at were the results of that evening's races at the dog track, before they had even been run. Roger quickly made his way to the track and placed bets on dogs he knew were going to win. A big pay out was guaranteed.

Of course, the TV show was fictitious, but the principle still holds true in real life.

When we know something for a fact in advance, we act with greater assurance and confidence. If we believe the Bible is the true inspired Word of God, then we believe all that it contains is true.

John 14:1-3 New International Version (NIV)

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. 2 My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am."

As Christians, because of Jesus, we know that before it even happens, the last headline that will ever be written will simply read, "GOD WINS." Do you know someone that needs to hear that good news? Why not make the time today to go and share with them the greatest news they will ever hear.

I love you all,

Tim

Thought for the Week

Proverbs 10:29 -- The way of the Lord is a refuge for the blameless,

but it is the ruin of those who do evil.
